Getting a Grip on Anger

 

Introduction:

Part of putting on new man is learning to control anger/wrath that can confront us regularly. There are fewer things that are harder to deal with, excused so often, or lead us to sin quicker – than a feeling of anger. Talk to many people who indicate that this is one of the most discouraging things they work on in life. Anger sometimes stays in ones heart & can affect joy/health.  It can shatter communication between husband & wife; provoke children to wrath; and create turmoil w/in congregation.  Often the question comes up:  How can I deal with anger?  How can I get better where I don’t blow up w/those I love – and my brethren?

I. Remember:  Anger is not always _________________!

A.     Anger:  God given emotion to help solve problems ____________.

II. When does Anger Become ______________?

1.      Stop & think about motivation for getting upset b/f reacting!

A.     Can blow up:  divorce; ill health; ________________; even murder!

IV. How Can I Get a Grip on my Anger?

A.     Must recognize, admit the mistake/problem.
