Faith is the “conviction of the truth of anything; belief.” In the NT it is a “conviction of belief respecting man’s relationship to God & divine things.” It involves “trust & holy fervor born of faith & joined with it—relating to the conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things.” It is “belief that God will bestow eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.” Rom. 5:1—we are justified through our faith. 2 Cor. 5:7 says that it is by faith that we walk. It is the motivation; the source of energy for our spiritual journey!
