The Transfiguration

Introduction:
    Jesus takes Peter, James, and John away on a tall mountain to pray. Here He was transfigured before them. Imagine if you were Peter, James, or John! How incredible this must have been for three former fisherman from Galilee! What took place here would burn vivid images in their minds—which would be recounted years later. See 2 Peter 1:16-18. Today we will discuss the significance of this event. What is it?

I. A look at the _____________________ itself.

Conclusion:
   
A. What does God expect of us today?
        1. Tabernacles erected in memory of His Son? Not hardly.
   
     2. He desires we simply obey His words on the mountain….HEAR HIM!
