The Christian's Hope
Introduction:
Hope is the message of 1 Peter. Peter tells us that God is responsible for this hope. If we live in obedience to the gospel of Christ, we can live with a hope of eternal life. Because of Christ’s resurrection, we know that God will call all men into judgment. (Acts 17:31) In view of this, God has called all men everywhere to repent. So, we must respond in belief, repentance, and baptism to get into a right relationship with God. This gives us our living hope. What do we mean when we speak of hope? It carries with it desire + expectation! Hope does not have reference to that which we see and have—but to that which we are confident and expect to receive. (Rom. 8:24-25)
