The People's Response

Introduction:

Today we will discuss the effects of the sermon on the listeners. The multitudes were astonished at His teaching. When we read of the amazement of those who heard Jesus—we are witnessing the effect of the voice of God upon human hearts. Why were they so amazed? Jesus appeared in everyway ordinary; usual; just a common person from Galilee. He had no formal background; no special training. He was simply a carpenter’s son from Nazareth—but He spoke with the absolute; unequivocal truth—as one who had experienced it; as one who had lived it.
