Blessed are the Meek
Introduction:
Would you describe the general attitude of the world as being meek; humble; and gentle? Hardly! These attributes are contrary to natural inclination. The world thinks in terms of power; strength; and possessions. The Christian is to be altogether different from the world! 2 Cor. 5:17-19 teaches that we are new creatures—living in a different kingdom. We are trying to become just like Jesus! Learning the qualities of Matthew 5:5 has always been a struggle for those who serve God. Think of the Jews of Jesus’ day. Think of some in the church today.
