Unity that Hell Can't Shake

Introduction:
    Isn’t it exciting to see good attitudes & brotherly love in action? This is God’s plan for the local congregation. Even while good things are happening and progress is being made, we must look to Paul’s words to the Thessalonians and make sure that we improve still more! How can we improve on it? Tonight’s lesson will look at the unity of the New Testament church and how we must draw off it as an example to go by! The type of local church that hell can’t shake is one described by the Holy Spirit as “together.” We must strive to have a church that is truly “one” and “together.” Let’s look at the example of the NT church for a moment:
I. Marks of Oneness by the first century church:
    A. 1 Cor. 1:10—perfected; united; or _________ __________ together.
    B. 1 Cor. 12:24—tempered or ____________ together.
    C. Eph. 2:21—fitly framed; ___________ together.
    D. Eph. 2:22—___________ together.
    E. Eph. 4:16—knit; fitted & ___________ together.
    F. Col. 2;19—supplied & ____________ together.
    G. Phil. 1:27—___________ together.
    H. Our dying need is to conform to the writings of Paul in Eph. 4:14-16!
II. The New Testament Picture of Baptized Believers:
    A. The following is to be a guideline for the kind of unity the world needs to see!
        1. Acts 2:42—all that believed were ______________.
        2. Acts 2:46—continuing steadfastly with one __________.
        3. Acts 4:32—were of ________ heart & _______ soul.

III. The results of this kind of unity:

    B. This is why they were able to go from house to house (Acts 20:20); publicly & privately (Acts 5:42) and declare the whole counsel of God. (Acts 20:26-27).
    C. We must not underestimate these things—if we hope to have this kind of unity!
    D. Doing these things will help us become extremely successful in the work of the Lord!
