Submitting to the Lord's Service
Introduction:
Submission is defined as: to yield oneself to the will or authority of another. To make oneself compliant. Submission is somewhat hard for Americans to understand fully—I believe. In our country the individual is allowed to develop his own interests/wants/goals and paths for success. Our culture says “do want you want to do—not anything else.” This line of thinking has carried over into religion. This could be why so many refuse to listen to the pure gospel preached or why so many Christians never reach their full potential in serving God. Submission is doing something that you don’t necessarily want to do in order to please someone in authority over you. Submission will be necessary to get home to heaven. Let’s look at some Biblical examples of some who learned the lesson of submission.
